HOS Achiever

For hurricane remedial work in the Gulf of Mexico and deep sea operations world wide, the client required a versatile multi purpose vessel. A ship suited for inspection, repair, maintenance, diving and construction activities. To achieve a competitive price level the vessel is based on the Merwede Type-22 design.

The Merwede Type-22 design is adapted to the vessels specific tasks with respect to ROV, cranes and an A&R winch. Furthermore the vessel is capable of accepting two 12 men modular saturated diving spreads allowing the vessel to change functions rapidly and a modular pipelay unit, can be placed on the aft deck. The Superior Achiever is therefore a real multipurpose workhorse capable of various foreseeable future operations.

One dive bell of the modular twin bell dive system is operated through the dive moonpool. The second is operated through the large working moonpool. Two engine rooms provide ample power for manoeuvring and positioning this DP3 vessel. A dedicated engine room, providing power for deck appliances, guarantees additional power to enhance safety and flexibility. A 140 metric ton heave compensated crane and a 400 metric ton heave compensated A&R winch are suited for subsea work, two additional cranes are suited for deck work. A twin work class ROV system is integrated into the vessel design.
